About Me

Hello, I'm Jiesi.

I am a designer who loves to explore different ideas and skills. This leads me to have an all-rounded experience in UX & UI design, coding, animation and writing. At the heart of it, I seek to combine my knowledge in these fields to create delightful works for people.

What I do...

Design immersive, interactive digital media products through iterative prototyping, testing and feedback.

What I believe...

Technology has evolved to allow people to see and experience things that previously belonged only to the realm of imagination. I believe that interactive and digital media can bring ideas to life, creating an emotional connection that can stimulate people’s thinking and behaviour.

I also strongly believe in working and contributing in a team, because when ideas gets bounced and polished between people, magic happens and a great product is born.

Who I am...

Designer, developer, experimenter.

I like to explore new media tools, experimenting with concepts and seeing how they can impact people. I have background and experience in the dual disciplines of tech and design, and that has honed my skills in observation and analysis, giving me a perceptive edge in identifying and solving complex digital media problems.

My experience working in a startup company has taught me to be resourceful, and not to fear failure. I enjoy the challenge of starting something from scratch, learning new things along the way, and working with my team mates towards a common goal.

I have a Masters Degree from the Centre of Digital Media (CDM) in Vancouver, Canada, where I had hands-on experiences working in small teams using the agile methodology. Originally from Singapore, I also hold a Bachelor's degree in Information Engineering and Media from the Nanyang Technological University (NTU).

I know design, and I am also familiar with code. This puts me in a unique position to contribute in digital media teams, because I understand the importance of good design, and at the same time, I know the advantages and limitations of tech. This enables me to consider problems from different angles and come up with creative solutions.
